The Lodge
The house and its rules
Who builds this place, how it treats you, and how to argue with it.
The author
Harendra Alwis is writing The Cathedral and the books that follow it, and publishes them here under his own imprint.
How the site behaves
- No pop-ups, autoplay, infinite scroll, streaks or countdowns.
- Time spent on the site is never counted as success.
- Nothing you do in a laboratory is sent or stored.
- Every laboratory ends, and says so.
- The marks, the sources, disputes and help are free, always.
Disputes
Every claim has its own page with its sources and a form to dispute it. Accepted disputes, and any change of mark they bring, are shown on the claim's page with their dates. A mark that changes is a sign the framework is doing its job.
Accessibility
Every page is built to work by keyboard and with a screen reader, at 200 per cent zoom and on a phone 360 pixels wide. Animation stops if your device asks for reduced motion. Colour never carries meaning alone. If something does not work for you, tell us through the reader circle's address and we will fix it.
Educators
Each laboratory will come with a lesson plan keyed to the curriculum's seven stages, from age three to twenty-one, and a printable offline version for classrooms without screens.
The curriculum's capstone exercise starts here: choose one claim, find its source, and judge whether its mark is right.
